A beautiful sidesword of 109cm in length, sold by Czerny's auction house for €7,400. This Italian sword from c.1530-1550 has a double-edged blade marked "FECIT" on the right side, and on the left side remains of engravings ".O...ES". The pommel is octagonal.
My estimates give a blade 95cm long and 2.8cm wide. The grip is only 7.5cm long. No information on the weight is available. The length of the blade, in conjunction with its narrow width with a diamond cross-section, makes me think that this is a sidesword designed to take advantage of the thrust more than the cut.

I’d use that. *nods*
