I love this style as well. It’s the only hilt style I really like that I don’t have an example of. Hmmm…

Do you want an antique piece or a trainer in this style?

The way I see it, since it's a style I associated with Capoferro and the Italian rapier traditions, I went with a long blade for the trainer I ordered (114cm or 45"; not longer since it starts to be a pain to carry it around for training). This is also why I went with no bottom quillon on the trainer I ordered, since I don't see the use of quillons as being that important for these fencing styles (and illustrations). But I can be mistaken due to my limited knowledge on using a long rapier. In which case, it's perfect to learn more before investing in a higher-end bespoke piece.

People at the club I joined to fence already see rapiers as being unfair weapons, so I wonder how it will go... :)
